It's been far too long....

Today I decided to visit our family blog. I had to jog my memory on the web address. My last entry was in August 2010. Ouch! I'm sorry. Time has slipped away faster than I can catch up at times. So much has happened since then. Our children are growing up faster than I want to accept. My husband is taking care of us and enjoying his time being home in the South. I, of course miss home, but am adapting to southern living. In fact, the other day I made white gravy and biscuits. The gravy was good and did not taste like glue..lol. I know it is silly, but I am not an adventurous cook. It is turning a beautiful green and warming up fast. This year we might attempt a small garden in a pot. Not sure how that will pan out, but we always have the farmer's market if we fail. It is always good to have a back up plan. Well, I will need to post photos up here soon. I will try to do better at posting on here. I'm sorry I neglected our blog. I must remember that not everyone is on Facebook. That is where you can find me and our family. Have a great day and I'll see you soon!

Deacon Ordination

My husband was nominated and ordained as a deacon at the church he grew up in. What a blessing to have a godly man as my husband and father to our children. May he continue to walk with God and keep Him at the center of his life.

Moving on Up, To the Top

Someone was appointed the District Public Relations Coordinator over the North Mississippi Jr Civitans. Very cool. See his pin on his collar.

Grandma didn't get run over by a reindeer, but we did!

Okay, most of you know we got hit by a deer. When I say we got hit by one, I truly mean it. We were on our way home on a dark road with the high beams on. Bambi and Flora decided to jump out of no where and right in front of the car. Not cool at all. Lived in Flagstaff most of my life and seen deer and elk on the sides of the road, but never had one jump out at me while driving. Needless to say, the front fender was dented in on the driver side. I slammed on the brakes and turned the wheel so the impact would hit my side and not on my son's side. Mother's instinct. I know it could have been worse. I have known people who have had their cars roll over and flip when a deer hit the car. God was with us. So our Trusty is in the shop and hopefully she will be back in order, inside and out, to continue to carry us along the way. On a side note, I told our son the car was his now since it was damaged...lol.

Fun Times

We always have fun at the Witcher house. They are a great family and full of fun and life. We are so thankful for their friendship.

First Day of School

After 9 years of homeschooling, our son went back to school full-time at a local private school. He is doing very well and enjoying his time on this new academic adventure. We sure do miss him at home, but happy for him and all he pursues.

Our youngest attends part-time for the homeschool program at a local private school. We still homeschool 75% at home and enjoy learning at our own pace.

Yee-Haw, the ANVIKS have Arrived!!!!!!!!!!

My goodness! We were so blessed this summer with having two families from back home come and stay with us on their summer adventures. The Anviks are close and dear to our hearts. We loved having them with us and catching up on all the happenings of life. Next time we hope Matt can join them or even better, we go out and see the whole gang!

Yummy goodness from the Southwest!

Touch a Truck

This was such a great event hosted by the Parks and Rec department. The kids got to not only ride on the equipment, but got to help maneuver them. What a great time!

Delta Fair 2010

Turkey legs, yum!

Oh my!

You never know what you will find at the fair...uh, I think he should stick to the funnel cakes.

I thought this hair-do went out in the 80s!

Someone Is Now a Tween!

Our daughter is no longer in the single digits. A new era has begun in our family as everyone is now in the double digits. Happy Birthday sweet baby. You are a blessing and joy to have in our family.

Houston, the SNYDERS have landed...I repeat, the SNYDERS have landed!

What a treat to have the Snyder's come and stay with us on their summer travels. God is so good. We love this family so dearly and it was wonderful to see them and spend time together. Thank you for visiting with us, Snyder family. Come on back, we'll leave the light on for ya.

4th of July 2010

Yep, this year we were prepared for our firework extravaganza! We even made two or three trips to the fireworks stand since our children set off a few before the party. Gotta love firework celebrations in MS.

Oh my! Look who is one year older...

My loving husband is another year older. How time flies by. I was joking with him one day in church as we walked by the Seniors class. I told him he was going to be in there before me...lol. I love him!

Faith of 4

Our daughter and her friends in the neighborhood have big plans. They call themselves, Faith of 4. One day they want to be a band and make music for God. I love the name they came up with all on their own. Everyone has been given a position on what they will play and who sings. Very sweet. I was asked to take the cover picture of their CD. Here is one of the many we took that day. :)

Farmville

Okay, I really love to play Farmville. It is a game on Facebook that I was introduced to and have found it quite fun to play. Living in MS, I get to see real farm equipment in action. Sadly, when I drive by a field, see John Deere stuff, a barn, or the grain silos, the first thing that pops into my head...Farmville!

Toby Mac & Chris Tomlin

Yep, God has blessed these people with the gift of music. What a great night of worship. We had a great time of fellowship with our friends and our daughter was even serenaded by Toby himself.

Country Donkey Update

The donkies were not visiting for awhile and now they are back. I think it might be due to the fact that two of them have had babies in the past few weeks. One thing is for sure, we did not get to have critters like this in our backyard living in Scottsdale. What a treat for
us. The donkies love to visit with our daughter. They come to her with ease. Plus, she always has a goodie for them to eat - apples.

The donkey on the left is the one I accidentally hit with an apple. I did not mean to do that and I truly am a bad aim at tossing things. Needless to say, she does not like me. She also had a baby. So cute!

The brown donkey had a baby. We thought it was an overweight male, but we obviously were incorrect.

Isn't baby the cutest.

Big Wheels Keep on Movin'

Life definitely keeps me amused. I am use to seeing low-riders in my days. Remember those? I've also seen cars that move up and down and ones that rock side ways. Living life on the west coast, I guess..lol. Here is something new for me, cars with BIG wheels. I thought maybe this was a one time moment, but I've seen a variety of cars with BIG rims in my area. Quite interesting, if you ask me. So, since I have not seen a Smart Car (okay..maybe I've spotted one in the city) out in my new hot spot of living, I've taken to photographing the cars with BIG wheels. ☺
